After a long idle period from 22 November 2015 to 22 April 2016, the long-distance trolleybus operation on the interurban line Simferopol — Alushta — Yalta is reinstated.

Сегодня состоялась официальная передача 15 троллейбусов модели БКМ 321 от ПАО "Азот" городу.

На 21 април 2016г е пуснато в експлоатация депо "Дружба".

Traffic on Line-3 of the Baku metro has opened.

Trolleybus wires on Naugarduko g. were partially dismantled (terminus loop and intersection with Švitrigailos g.) This line was used by former line 13 until 1st of July 2013.

В связи с долгом по электроэнергии и отключением тяговых постанции вносятся изменения в схему движения троллейбусов и трамваев.
Троллейбусы:
4. Северный автовокзал — ул. Глинки.
Маршруты № 10 закрыт.
15.Парк победы — ул. Первомайская — Уфимский ДОК.
Трамваи:
8. Парк им. Калинина — Стадион им. Николая Гастелло.

Кроме того, в связи с отсутствием напряжения Троллейбусное депо № 2 изолировано от основной сети. Троллейбусы ночуют на к/ст "Уфимский ДОК".

Также опубликован график дальнейших отключений:
22 апреля — полностью прекратится подача энергии в троллейбусное депо № 2,
25 апреля — подстанция № 15 на Кольцевой улице,
26 апреля — тяговая подстанция № 16 на улице Ульяновых,
27 апреля – тяговая подстанция на Дунайской улице,
28 апреля – тяговая подстанция в микрорайоне Инорс,
29 апреля — тяговая подстанция № 8 на улице Мира,
4 мая – тяговая подстанция № 36 на улице адмирала Макарова,
5 мая — диспетчерская на улице Ахметова,
6 мая – диспетчерская на улице Менделеева,
10 мая – тяговую подстанцию № 23 на улице Сагита Агиша.

Таким образом, будут закрыты маршруты в Черниковке (Тб. 2, 4, 8, 9, 10, 15, Тм 8) и в Зеленой Роще (Тб 13, 13к, 16, 21, Тм 1, 16, 18).

The Moscow's Department of Public Transport officially announced a plan to replace trolleybuses with diesel buses in the central area of Moscow.

The authorities are about to impose this decision without consulting with the public. Most of the trolleybus lines in the city center will be dismantled, which includes the lines on Bulvarnoe Koltso, Kremlyovskoe Koltso, Tverskaya Ulitsa and Noviy Arbat Ulitsa. The Lines 1, 2, 9, 12, 15, 31, 33 & 44 will be converted to a diesel bus operation.

The city council decided to close trolleybus system in favor of electrobuses and natural gas buses.

Начато строительство металлопластиковых козырьков над входами на станциях "Prealpino", "Mompiano", "Europa", "Ospedale", "Marconi", "Stazione FS", "Brescia Due", "Lamarmora", "Volta", "San Polo". Козырьки также будут содержать вмонтированные информационные электронные дисплеи на которых будет выводится время, название станции, отсчёт времени до следующих поездов.

Tram lines 12 and 26 are officially closed. Track dismantling begins on Yangi Kuylyuk Ulitsa, including the Massiv Kuylyuk 6 Terminal.

Tramway tracks at the Railway station's square will be retained.

Město Jirkov pozastavilo financování trolejbusových služeb od 01.01.2017. Trolejbusové služby v Jirkově budou nahrazeny autobusy CNG. Služby meziměstského systému Chomutov — Jirkov budou zkráceny na konečnou Písečná v oblasti města Chomutov. Trolejbusová doprava ve městě Chomutov bude zachována. • The city of Jirkov suspends financing the trolleybus services as of 01.01.2017. Trolleybus services in Jirkov will be replaced with CNG buses. The services of the Chomutov — Jirkov interurban system will be shortened to the Písečná terminus, within Chomutov city limits. The trolleybus operation in the city of Chomutov will be retained.

В Восточное трамвайное депо поступил 3-секционный низкопольный трамвайный вагон модели 71-931 «Витязь» производства компании «ПК Транспортные системы». Трамвай приобретён на средства МУП «КТТУ», в течение года планируется организация сборки аналогичных вагонов в мастерских по ремонту подвижного состава предприятия.

A new three-section 71-409-01 tram arrived following testing in Yekaterinburg.

The City Council publicly supported free travel on Chernovtsi trolleybuses. The city will be allocating 40-50 million hryvnia annually to the municipal trolleybus undertaking.

Dismantling of tramway tracks between the Proletarka Loop and Kalinina Ploschad. The Line 14 will be permanently cut short by 5 stops, to Proletakra only. At this time the Line 14 is not operated. This leaves the Line 5 as the only tram service in operation in the city.

The Bezhitskoe Trolleybus Depot is mothballed. All trolleybus services are now operated out of the Sidorova Depot only.

All LM-93 trams are decommissioned.

Mayor Rakhmonbek Usmanov announced a complete closure of the Tashkent tramway by the end of 2016.

This decision is made due to an increase of the automobile traffic in the city, limited street network capacity, and ineffectiveness of the tramway operation. All together 87,8 km. of track will be dismantled. In place of tramway tracks roads will be widened, or the space will be landscaped. Diesel buses will operate instead of trams under the same route designation numbers. In some places buses will start operating parallel to trams ahead of closures, so passengers will get used to the new arrangement. The Line 13 will see such service duplication starting as soon as April 5th.

Following a 1,5 month-long break in service trolleybuses are operated again in the western part of the system. Two services are operated: Chapaeva — Mirniy with 2 trolleybuses, and Chapaeva — Yuzhniy with 1 trolleybus.

The tramway Line 4 continues to operate, serviced with one single car. The overpass reconstruction project is mothballed.

A previously planned closure of the Aglofabrika line is postponed following many complains from passengers. The closure of the segment between Stantsiya Zapadnaya and Energouchastok and suspension of the Lines 7, 14 & 14 is planned instead due to overwhelming need for investments into infrastructure repairs. It is promised that trams on the given segment will be replaced with 15 new low floor air-conditioned diesel buses.

The petition to save the trolleybus Line 18 has been renewed. A request to extend the line to the city center was added:
