Trams return to the streets of Yangon after 70 years since the closure of the first tram system. The new tram line built with Japanese investments officially opened on 10.01.2016, regular service started on 11.01.2016. The 4,8-km long line is built via Strand Rd between Wardan Jetty and Linsadaung. The tracks are laid with the 1000 mm & 1435 mm options. Three 50-years old ex-Japanese cars are used, operating 6 runs between 8:00-16:00. The fare is MMK100 (appx. US$0,08). Extensions form Wardan Jetty to Kyeemyindaing in the east, and from Linsadaung to Pazundaung in the west are planned for 2017, brining the line to 11,3 km, in length.

The human rights movement "Vmeste" applied for a permit for a rally against the closure of the trolleybus system in Vologda. The rally is scheduled for 12/03 at one of the city's main squares. The place and the time will be announced later.

A dismantling of the Tarakkiyot tramway line has begun. The line was out of service since the dismantling of the TTZ Line via Mirzo Ulugneka Prospect. A project to built a new tramway line from Tarakkiyot Ulitsa to Akhanganskoe Shosse is canceled. The Lines 8, 12, 26 are to be suspended due to rising debts on electricity supply bills by the tramway undertaking.

The trolleybus Lines 10 Bezhitskiy Rynok — Yuridicheskiy Fakultet BGU and 10K Bezhitskiy Rynok — Tsentralniy Rynok are suspended. The Line 3 is extended from Tsentraliny Rynok to Gorbatogo Ulitsa. The Line 13K Tsentralniy Rynok — Gorbatogo Ulitsa is renumbered 15. The Line 14C Tsentralniy Rynok — 10-y Mikrorayon is renumbered 5.

As per information from Wellington trolleybus operator NZ Bus, trolleybus service in the city will be extended by 6 months — until the end of 2017.

The routing for a number of trolleybus lines changes. The Line 2 operating between TRK Krasnaya Ploschad and Zh.D. Vokzal Krasnodar-I is rerouted via Severnaya Ulitsa and Turgeneva Ulitsa. The Line 12 operating from Blagoeva Ulitsa is extended via Mira Ulitsa, Oktyabrskaya Ulitsa, Severnaya Ulitsa and Volodarskogo Ulitsa to Stadion Kuban. The Lines 3 & 5 are suspended. The revenue trolleybus service via Budyonnogo Ulitsa is discontinued.

Chaohua mine commuting trolleybuses closes, due to the winding up of mining operations at the mine.

The Incheon Airport Maglev Line opened on February 3, 2016. The line is 6.1 km (3.8 mi) long, with six stations, and operating speed of 110 km/h (68 mph). Two more extensions are planned at 9.7 km and 37.4 km. Once completed, it will become a circular line.

The new trolleybus line opens between Náměstí Jurije Gagarina and the Hranečník transit hub. The new segment is served with the Lines 101, 107 & 110.

Движение поездов будет полностью автоматическим, без машиниста. Все станции сделаны по типу "горизонтальный лифт". Впервые в метро Барселоны будет применён принцип отправления поездов с определённого пути: первого или второго (Via 1, Via 2). Т.е направление будет периодически меняться, в зависимости от пути, отстаивания или даже отставания поезда, смены составов и т.д., поэтому при входе на каждую станцию надо быть внимательным к информационным табло, где будут указаны с какого пути отправляется поезд заданного направления. Стоимость проезда от аэропорта до Zona Universitaria: 4,50€.
