Введена в эксплуатацию восстановленная трамвайная линия от вокзала на пос. им. Крупской; открыт (восстановлен) маршрут № 8: вокзал — пос. им. Крупской.
В документах конца 1940-х гг. сообщается, что движение по этому маршруту осуществлялось плохо, и нормальная работа маршрута началась лишь в 1948 году.

Утром — торжественное открытие первой в городе троллейбусной линии в рамках празднования XXX годовщины Октябрьской революции. На троллейбусах были вывешены транспоранты с лозунгами «Слава великому Сталину!», «В Днепропетровске есть троллейбус!».

Днём и вечером проверялась контактная сеть, электрики осуществляли последние подключения.
В 22:30 дали напряжение по троллейбусной сети, первая троллейбусная линия в городе была введена в эксплуатацию.
До 24:00 троллейбусы совершили первые четыре тура по маршруту № 1 (ул. Пастера — Горсовет) и перевезли первые десятки пассажиров.

Из Киева прибыла партия из четырёх бывших в употреблении троллейбусов MAN для открытия первой троллейбусной линии в городе.
