Начаты работы по строительству первой троллейбусной линии в городе.
Открытие линии и запуск троллейбусного движения планировалось на июнь 1946 года, но работы застопорились, и открытие состоялось лишь в ноябре 1947 года.

Поступили первые троллейбусы модели МТБ-82.

Для открытия движения в город поступили 6 двухосных вагонов (2 моторных и 4 прицепных) б/у из Свердловска.
