Tram service was inaugurated using three "Type X" motor cars on a 4.5 km single-track line (Route No. 1). The line featured passing loops and connected "Lenin Park" (now Bernatsky Garden) with the NKMZ works via Ordzhonikidze Street (now Oleksa Tykhyi Street).
