The new prototype 100% low floor Tver-built 71-911E City Star tram for 1435 mm gauge delivered for testing.

The segregated trolleybus Line 6 Naberezhnaya — AO Kaustik in the Krasnoarmeyskiy Region of the city is now served with diesel buses.

Testing of the new tram line via the newly built Stary Bridge over the Danube River with trams Škoda 30T ForCity Plus 7530 & T6A5 7927+7928.

Open metro station Salaryevo. The station is located on the Sokolnicheskaya line and became the 200th in the Moscow metro.

Delivery of the first of 20 trams of 71-623-02 type acquired 12.2015 to the Gorodskoe Depot.

Открытие юго-восточного участка линии метро L9. 20 км и 15 станций соединят линии метро L1, L3, L5, L8 с терминалами Т1 и Т2 аэропорта El Prat, а также Барселону с городами L´Hospitalet и Prat de Llobregat. Движение поездов будет полностью автоматическим, без машиниста. Все станции сделаны по типу "горизонтальный лифт". Впервые в метро Барселоны будет применён принцип отправления поездов с определённого пути: первого или второго (Via 1, Via 2). Т.е направление будет периодически меняться, в зависимости от пути, отстаивания или даже отставания поезда, смены составов и т.д., поэтому при входе на каждую станцию надо быть внимательным к информационным табло, где будут указаны с какого пути отправляется поезд заданного направления. Стоимость проезда от аэропорта до Zona Universitaria: 4,50€.
Проезд с 12-го по 14-е февраля будет бесплатным для того, чтобы как можно больше жителей и гостей Барселоны ознакомились с линией и станциями.

The official opening ceremony of the Translohr Ayacucho Tram Line took place on 20.10.2015. The introductory passenger service commenced on 26.10.2015. The line operates evenings between 17:00 — 20:00, after daytime construction work is wrapped up. As of 01.2016 up to 370 000 passengers were carried. The revenue service is set to start in March, 2016.

The first 71-623-02 tram has been delivered to the tram depot.

Состоялся торжественный запуск нового поезда Bombardier Azur (MPM-10). После почти 10 лет разработки и потраченных $2 млрд. на линию, наконец, вышел первый девятивагонный состав. Всего в этом году ожидается поставка еще 12 поездов, а до конца 2018 года будут заменены все устаревшие вагоны. Новому поезду присвоен номер 10-021 — 10-029: причина в том, что первый состав после испытаний отправился на доработку обратно на завод-изготовитель. Кроме того, для обслуживания новых вагонов существенно модернизированы депо, а также произведено переобучение технического персонала.

The official "blue ribbon" ceremony with Córdoba's mayor Ramòn Mestre and the acceptance of the 7 new Russian trolleybuses, including the first commemorative departure from the Depot's gates took place on February 3rd. Revenue service with passengers started on February 5th. Due to low passenger carrying capacity the new trolleybuses are assigned to the Line C.

According to the New York Times, the New York mayor Bill de Blasio announced the project to construct a 25,75 km-long tramway line by 2024. The line will be built via the eastern bank of the East River, connecting Brooklyn and Queens. Trams will operate in mixed traffic with speeds around 20 km/h. Due to a partial collapse of the Sovetskaya Ulitsa railroad overpass, trolleybuses operate as far as the Dvorets Sporta Dinamo Stop only. Trolleybus traffic in the western part of the city is temporarily suspended.

According to the official statement by the city authorities, the trolleybus system in Vologda will be retained.

Delivered the first MAN SL 172 HO trolleybus, second hand from Solingen.

The trolleybus operation in Dzerzhinsk could cease on 29.01.2016 unless electric supply bills are paid off. The tramway operation in the city closed on 18.12.2015.

The trolleybus Line 8 Naugorskoe Shosse — Yuzhniy Pereulok suspended. Hence, trolleybus service via the long one-way loop line in the Zavokzalniy Posyolok area is no longer provided.

The Argentinian federal government ordered an exemption of import duties on the 7 new Russian trolleybuses, as this units meet a public service standard. The vehicles were locked for many months by customs formalities. The 5 Optima trolleybuses reached the TAMSE Depot, but are not allowed to operate in service. The 2 Megapolis trolleybuses are being held by the customs.

A mass optimization of the trolleybus operation is expected due to a dire financial situation. As of 01.02.2016 the Bezhetskoe Depot will be mothballed, with trolleybuses gradually transferred to the main A.V.Sidorov Depot. As of 01.03.2016 the Lines 10 & 10K will be suspended, while the Line 3 will be extended to the Gorbatova Ulitsa. The service on the Lines 3 & 12 will be reinforced at the expense of the Line 10.

A head-on collision between two trains, which resulted in hospitalization of 57 people, mostly students on the way to school. Both train operators were also injured. It is suspected that a faulty switch caused the accident, by allowing two trains to run head-on via a single truck segment.

The Metro Station Rumyantsevo on the Sokolnicheskaya Line opens.

Jihlava has retired Skoda 21Tr trolleybuses. Note, that Jihlava was the last city in the former Czechoslovakia to operate 9Tr trolleybuses, and also the first city to retire 14Tr trolleybuses.
