KP Electrotrans ceased operating 7 trolleybuses leased by the private carrier Graneks and stored at the depot, namely 2 ZiU-682G-016(018), 2 LAZ E183D1 & 3 ZiU-682V-012(VOA) trolleybuses. In addition to the above, 30 trolleybuses owned by the municipality continue in service: 20 Dnipro T103, 6 YuMZ-T2 & 4 ZiU-682G (GOO) trolleybuses.

According to the mayor Vitaliy Kushnarev all trolleybuses in Rostov are to be replaced with diesel buses for the 2018 Soccer Tournament. The average age of trolleybuses is 20 years, while diesel buses are considered more effective. The municipality plans to purchase 100 Russian-made diesel buses and 14 trams in 2017, upon which all older trams except those purchased in 2016 will be retired. Additional 100 diesel buses might also be purchased in 2018.

A fire at the lower Paris Square Station of the funicular (metro) the Carmelit broke out around 13:00, while the funicular was closed for a Saturday. The smoke ascended up the tunnel and billowed out of all stations. According to the media all the rolling stock has burned out, and the infrastructure was damaged. The fire was extinguished within 2 hours. The Haifa Metro will be closed for a few months.

Trolley buses do not go on the line because of debts of the company

The new interurban trolleybus line to the city of Kaspiysk opens. It is served by the Line 3. Trolleybuses operate to Zavod Dagdizel in Kaspiysk.

The TrolZa 5265.00 Megapolis trolleybus delivered for trial runs. The vehicle received fleet number 245 and is expected to operate via the Kaspiysk Line.

Opening of the Metro Line 3 from the Yidaeryuan to the Harbinxizhan Station.

Delivered the first Tatra T3SUCS from Prague, delivery of a total of 10 such trams is expected. Tatra T3 trams used to operate in Mariupol in 1967-1985, but were later sent over to Dontesk, Odessa and Zaporozhye.

Delivered the first TrolZa-5275.03 Optima trolleybus of a batch of trolleybuses ordered from TrolZa. The vehicle received fleet number 001. Training of new drivers started.

The Monorail switches to a new timetable due to passenger flow reduction in 2016. The Monorail system is being converted to excursion-only service and will be operated between 8:00-20:00 on the 30-minute headway.

The new trolleybus line to the Terminal A at the Airport totaling 1,5 km. in length opens, the Line 9 is extended.

A vehicle body by the PAO Nefaz is delivered to the AO UTTZ for further assembly into a trolleybus.
