The first of 38 new Yutong ZK5180C articulated trolleybuses arrives in Shanghai.

Трамвайная система столкнулась с серьёзными финансовыми трудностями, которые усугубились вместе с лишением Плауэна статуса независимой администрации и связанным с этим переходом полномочий по организации местного транспорта к району Фогтланд. Сложившаяся ситуация ведёт к дефициту инвестиций и угрозе банкротства предприятия, поскольку доходы от продажи билетов не покрывают расходы на обеспечение функционирования трамвая.

Чтобы широко осветить эту ранее замалчиваемую тему, начались общественные акции и мероприятия.

Была создана петиция за сохранение трамвая.

Началась поставка второй партии трамвайных вагонов для Краснодара, приобретаемых по концессионному соглашению в 2025 году. В данную партию входят 30 односекционных низкопольных трамваев 71-628-01 производства Усть-Катавского вагоностроительного завода. Планируется, что все вагоны будут получены в течение осени и будут переданы на баланс Западного трамвайного депо МУП «КТТУ».

New JK series trains manufactured by Stadler have been put into regular service after numerous delays.

The first trains of the new generation have begun operating on the U2 line. By the end of 2025, Berlin will receive a total of 140 JK cars, namely 36 two-car and 17 four-car sets. They are planned to replace the old A3 series metro cars on lines U1-U4.

Tram service to the village of Lacu Sărat and Combinat (routes 24 and 25) has been suspended due to the start of modernization work on the tram infrastructure on Grigore Alexandrescu street, between Monument Park and DN21 road. Once this work is completed, modernization of the railway between Brăila and Lacu Sărat will begin. The section between Lacu Sărat and Combinat isn't included in any modernization project and will likely be removed due to almost none ridership.

В ближайшие 2-3 месяца планируется обновление парка — 50 автобусов по льготному лизингу (федеральный проект "Инфраструктура для жизни"). Предприятие готовится к эксплуатации автобусов, набирает водителей категории "D" и обучает ремонтный персонал. Заявленная цель – повысить качество обслуживания, учитывая износ троллейбусного парка (ЗиУ-682 1980-х и 1990-х годов выпуска). Автобусы планируют пустить на 3 троллейбусных маршрута, а освободившийся электротранспорт поставить на более востребованные направления для уменьшения интервалов. Поставка — 40 автобусов до конца октября, 10 – до конца ноября 2025.

All funiculars and elevators in Lisbon operated by Carris — including the Ascensor da Glória, Ascensor da Bica, Ascensor do Lavra, and the Elevador de Santa Justa — have been suspended until further notice following the deadly Glória crash. The death toll from the Glória crash has now risen to 16, with 23 people injured.

Концерн Электрон представил новую модель электробуса — 10-метровый Электрон Е18101. Первый прототип представлен в городе Ужгород, который планирует закупать такие машины.

At approximately 18:05 local time on September 3, 2025, car #1 of Gloria funicular derailed, overturned, and crashed into a nearby building. The crash left 16 people dead and 23 others injured, sparking a large-scale emergency response. Initial reports indicate a possible cable snap and brake failure.

На маршрут №10 "Улица Кулакова — Метро "Щукинская" вышел беспилотный трамвай для работы с пассажирами. Испытания проводились без пассажиров с весны 2024 года. В кабине находится сотрудник трамвайного управления для контроля работы беспилотных систем.

Открыт новый электробусный маршрут № 90.

Маршрут связывает между собой Дворец Республики и Абайские дачи по проспекту Абая.

На маршруте работают в будние дни 25 электробусов, в выходные 22 электробуса. Интервал составит 5 минут.

New trolleybus Line 3 is introduced between Eastown Hub — Webster / Leo. The new service incorporates the southeast segment of former Line 3 and the northeast segment of former Line 5, both of which have been operated a few years ago. Line 1 is rerouted to Eastown Hub, thus reducing the segment without overhead, and allowing for the service to be converted to trolleybuses that are now capable of accumulating enough charge to navigate the above segment using batteries. Hence, Lines 1,3,4,7,8 in Dayton are now fully reclaimed by trolleybuses.

These are being put into service on urban routes by the Chisinau City Hall and Î.M. "Regia transport electric".
The transport units were purchased from Tallinn (Estonia, 17 units) and Riga (Latvia, 4 units).

All units have passed the verification and technical testing procedures and are ready for operation on the city streets, being distributed on several municipal routes, including routes no. 1, 4, 10, 12, 21, 22, 23 and 25.

The first of thirty low entry Geely Yuancheng C12E trolleybuses arrives in Hangzhou. This is the first time that Geely has produced a trolleybus, as they primarily manufacture electric buses. These trolleybuses will feature four different liveries — the current Hangzhou Public Transport livery and three retro liveries.

Троллейбус «Синара-6254» производства челябинского завода «Синара — Транспортные машины» пройдёт испытания в Оренбурге.

Закрытие движения электробусной сети в связи с оптимизацией маршрута № 40. Единственный оставшийся электробус отстранен от работы.

Движение электробусов в городе полностью прекращено. Подвижной состав остановлен.

В Ростов-на-Дону 16 августа был отправлен первый трёхсекционный трамвай 71-233 от "Синары" под колею 1435 мм. 19 августа указанный вагон прибыл.

На маршруте № 9 начал работать первый трамвай типа Schindler/Siemens Be 4/8, подаренный Базелем! Вагон 1252 первым выехал на линию.
