On January 1, 2021, the first section from Cibali station to Alibeyköy Cep Otogarı station of the T5 tram line (Eminönü — Alibeyköy) was opened. Due to the curfew in Istanbul, the trams will start to run with passengers at 06:00 on January 4. The first 10 days (until January 14) rides will be free of charge.
The line is 8.8 km long and has 12 stations. The one-way trip takes 30 minutes. The traffic interval is 6 minutes at peak time.
In order to avoid visual pollution, electrification is not from traditional overhead wires, but from power lines embedded in the ground between the tracks.
At the first time, the T5 line will be maintained by 10 5-section Turkish Durmazlar Panorama trams, and by September 2021 – by 30 cars. After 2023, according to the passenger amount, the number of trams will increase to 50. To maintain them, Alibeyköy tram depot was built next to the northern terminus of the line.

В город прибыли первые пять троллейбусов БКМ-321, ранее работавшие в Москве. Всего ожидается передача 17 троллейбусов.

Vinnytsia will receive 70 tram cars from Zurich. The signing of the agreement on the extension of the "Zurich tram" project, under which Vinnytsia will receive a new batch of trams, took place on 23 of December. The document provides for the delivery of 70 cars of the "Tram2000" series. Vinnytsia plans to receive the first batch of 35 cars in 2022. The decision to hand over the second batch of Tram2000 cars will be made after an assessment of the effectiveness of the implementation of the first part of the new agreement.

Началась эксплуатация вагонов модели 71-415 с пассажирами. Вагон с бортовым номером 202 вышел на 15 маршрут "Новая Кушва — Гальяно-Горбуновский массив"

В трамвайное депо поступили 2 вагона модели Tatra T3K «Иж».

— 4 Vorhölzli ↔ Nidau Burgerallee
Route changes include:
— Line 1 took over the Orpundplatz ↔ Löhre section of line 4
— Line 3 took over the Bahnhof ↔ Mösliacker section of line 7 (diesel bus line) and the Orpundplatz ↔ Vorhölzli section of line 1
— Line 4 took over the Bahnhof Mett ↔ Vorhölzli section of line 7 (diesel bus line) and got a brand new routing in Nidau (Continental ↔ Nidau Burgerallee)
