The tram is officially put into service.

Madrid's metro is disrupted following a major malfunction in the energy supply system. People are being evacuated from the metro trains.

Service was fully resumed on 29 April.

The extension of the south-western section of the U3 line by 800 metres to the S-Bahn Mexikoplatz station (with the subsequent construction of a separate station) has started.

The new section with the new station could be operational by 2030. Still, residents, activists, and some transport planning offices have pointed out that the project costing is significantly underestimated, which could lead to funding problems and a longer construction period.

After more than thirty years, trolleybus service returns to Vogošća. Route 105 Trg Austrije — Vogošća is being introduced. Significant changes to schedule on bus lines 21 and 22A are being made too.

The first of five New Flyer XE35 electric buses has entered service in Glendale.
These buses were purchased as part of the federal TRICP program, with the remaining four expected to hit the streets by the end of the year.
In total, with $34.6 million in financial support from the California State Transportation Agency, an additional 20 electric buses are scheduled to be launched over the next three years.

Начат регулярный выпуск вагонов на линию с территории реконструированного трамвайного депо имени П.Л. Апакова на улице Шаболовке, д.9.

На территории осуществляется ночной отстой 11 вагонов 71-931М Октябрьского депо и их утренний выпуск на 800-е выходы по маршрутам №№: 3 (3 выхода), 26 (3 выхода), 39 (5 выходов), с последующим заходом вагонов на обслуживание в Октябрьское депо. При этом постоянно закреплённого парка вагонов на территории трамвайного депо имени П.Л. Апакова на улице Шаболовке, д.9, пока нет.

Вагон 71-931М № 31247 стал первым вагоном, вышедшим 22.04.2025 в 04:36 с территории трамвайного депо имени П.Л. Апакова после реконструкции на маршрут № 26 (выход 803).

Открытие продления 3-ей линии метро Мадрида на 2,5 км. на юг, в сторону станции "Эль Касар", где будет осуществляться пересадка на 12-ую линию метро и на линию городских электричек C3. До этого последней станцией, открывшейся в системе Мадридского метро стала станция "Пако-де-Люсия" на 9-ей линии, которая была открыта 25 марта 2015 года, 10 лет назад.

The UNESCO World Heritage Island of Yakushima has received 5 Hyundai ELEC City Town electric buses for local passenger and tourism bus operator Tanegashima Yakushima Kotsu.

Trolleybus service in Tehran has been suspended again, with Chinese-made electric buses running on the lines. The exact date of the system closure cannot be determined following limited information sources.

В воскресенье, 13 апреля, будет выведен из эксплуатации последний трамвай GT8N. После более чем 30 лет и пробега более 1,5 миллионов километров их эпоха на регулярных перевозках в Бремене подходит к концу.

GT8N были первыми низкопольными трамваями в Бремене, которые обеспечивали безбарьерный проезд и формировали облик городского пейзажа с 1990-х годов. Они производятся компаниями MAN и AEG в Нюрнберге и известны своей прочной конструкцией и возможностями индивидуального оснащения, такими как билетные автоматы, закрытые кабины водителей и современные светодиодные дисплеи. При длине 35,7 метра они предлагали пространство для большого количества пассажиров. Некоторые модели впоследствии были технически модифицированы для расширения их эксплуатационных возможностей.

Полностью прекращена эксплуатация троллейбусов марки "Škoda 14 Tr" и их всевозможных модификаций.

The first of new 36 Hitachi trains for the metro has been delivered.

The first electric bus (IVECO Crossway LE City Elec #871) enters regular service on route 113 Ljubljanica — Jarun.

The trolleybus is now in service.

New line — 16E has been announced between Praça do Comércio and Parque Tejo at the eastern end of the city. The new line will stretch 12km of length, 18 stops a total cost of 160M€ (including new trams) and is estimated to begin operation by 2028. More info.

On 31.03.2025, a trolleybus ran for the last time on the route from Neuhausen, centre, to the Herbstäcker terminus. The route was cancelled because the overhead line is being dismantled due to construction work on Klettgauerstrasse. It is not possible to run in battery mode, as there is already a section without overhead lines before Neuhausen, centre. To continue the journey, it is now necessary to change to a diesel bus in Neuhausen. In the evening and on Sundays, when the bus only runs every 20 minutes, only diesel buses run on the entire route. Once the construction work is complete, trolleybuses will no longer run in Schaffhausen.

The operation of the system is still preserved, but in a shortened form. Trolleybuses are planned to be completely replaced by electric buses in 2026. For this purpose, the city has ordered 6 Irizar articulated electric buses.

Начат процесс сокращения троллейбусной сети Майкопа. Троллейбусный маршрут № 3 с 28 марта обслуживается автобусами маршрута № 3а. С 1 апреля также на автобусное сообщение переведён троллейбусный маршрут № 8 (с сохранением исходного номера).

The first two Ankai (HFF6124G03EV) electric buses arrive in Bishkek. A total of 120 electric buses are expected in the city by July.

Sichuan Geely Commercial Vehicles wins the tender for thirty (30) 12 metre dual mode trolleybuses, after a protracted tendering process.
The negotiated price per trolleybus is ¥900,000 (approximately $125,250 USD).

The city has launched operation of new BYD K9MD ER electric buses. The “ER” designation indicates an extended battery range compared to the standard BYD K9MD model, which has been in service since 2021. A total of 95 buses will be delivered. 50 buses assigned to the J Line and the remainder deployed on Metro Local routes, fully replacing the aging NABI 45C CNG fleet. The new electric buses will be maintained at Divisions 9, 13, and 18.

Мэрия Оша планирует закупить троллейбусы в кредит от ЕБРР на сумму более 15 миллионов евро. Об этом в своем Telegram-канале сообщил депутат Дастан Бекешев.

По его словам, 31 марта депутаты парламентского комитета по бюджету рассмотрят соглашение с Европейским банком реконструкции и развития о выделении городу Ошу 14 миллионов 740 тысяч евро на покупку троллейбусов, из которых 5 миллионов евро – грант.

Планируется закупка 20 троллейбусов и 24 электробусов.

Yutong trolleybuses have officially started their regular operation.

By the end of 2026, 46 new trolleybuses will be delivered to Esslingen. The Škoda Group won the contract.
These are the 32Tr and 33Tr models with the bodywork coming from the Czech manufacturer SOR.

12 rigid and 34 articulated vehicles will be equipped with batteries for an autonomous run of 25 km.

The option for 15 more trolleybuses has already been partially confirmed: a further 6 (articulated) vehicles have already been firmly ordered, and the financing for these has also been secured.

Открыто движение троллейбусов по новой небольшой линии в северной части Краснодара. Троллейбусные маршруты № 15 и № 21 продлены по улицам Восточно-Кругликовской и Домбайской до конечной остановки «Улица Вологодская».
