"V Park", it goes to a park, or it goes to depot? Strange too, I notice on front, in old style letters text "LM 68 M". I have never seen before, type of tram written like that! Not on Tatra, (apart from "ČKD") and not any other. I suspect, it is a special feature St. Petersburg!

Tram depots are generally called "tram parks", that's a St. Petersburg special feature. Other cities also had "tram parks" a while ago.

And yes, the name of the model is displayed with a special icon on the front of any Leningrad- / St. Petersburg-built tramcar, starting with LM-47.

St. Petersburg (and other cities): depot - some building into a tram park. Several depot may be into a tram park.

I just noticed, this tram is so old !! :o :o Built 1979. Perhaps that the reason why text old style with model type on front ??

1970 = old style - for praehistoric tram! I am surprised, it is still in service with normal passengers. Not museum! The letters look very similar to ones on automobiles from 1970-1980.

Машка (уменьшительное от имени Мария) - по последней букве М в модели трамвая ЛМ-68М. И в честь советского тепловоза М62, который тоже называли Машкой. В случае трамвая М - Модернизированный, в случае тепловоза М - Моторул, т.к. М62 - обозначение румынское, а не советское, по первому заказчику.

Heresia magna. Это венгерское обозначение, а на Румынских ж. д. никакие буквы не употребляются, только цифры.

It is not luck - but lack !
City has not enough money to replace all old buckets with nice new trams immediatelly. It is interesting to learn facts about these old trams but I would prefer to use new beauties :)

No reason to be negative :) My intention was not, to say that St. Petersburg is a poor city! No city - apart from probably Dubai - is rich enough to run only best, newest trams. Such city - only exist in tramfanat dreams :)) Do not worry please, your city IS beautiful. I will visit it again :)

Вас минусуют скорее всего за некритичное восхваление трёхсекционных прелессстей, серьёзные врождённые проблемы которых обсуждаются под другим фото, а не за якобы критику Петербурга.

I have read about the problems. Its sad! Though, my positive remarks were not uncritical, they were simply about the exterior. The other, I would only write about, after experience the performance. Despite, it is also interesting to learn history of older models. Thank you!
