A very good, interesting photos but I think, a very ugly type of tram built :)

For that time when it developed this line of design (1966) ,he looked fine.

Странные у вас вкусы. Я могу ещё понять, почему большой угловатый брутальный ЛВС-86 вам кажется "уродливым", женщине это простительно. Но вам и пушистая розовая Татра не понравилась:)

But this ugly has huge windows and you can see through them beautiful architecture of city even you're standing in it!

Of course, Pink makes every tram look ugly :) This color only o. k. for flowers. As well, it is of course a matter of personal taste. St. Petersburg is a beautiful city but any trams built there, I do not find good looking. Tatra of course - perfect are the original colors :)) http://transphoto.ru/photo/336142/

And true, Tatra has low windows, when standing you must bow down to look outside. And Tatra doors might kick you in the ass, when tram is full and door close behind you :)

These trams have disadvatages too.

But for us (tram-fans from St-Petersburg) the biggest loss is bankruptcy
of PTMZ. We lost factory in our own city :(

I see, you are hard to please :)) "dislikes" for saying the old tram with hanging down front looks ugly. Dislikes for making compliment on your beautiful new trams as well.

It's all about Leningrad tram fans. No one is allowed to blame the old scrap they call 'a tram' just because it was manufactured by the Holy PTMZ (St.Petersburg Tramway&Mechanical Works), which went bankrupt a few years ago.

ugly - гадкий, а front hang down - всего лишь старенький и изношенный, все мы такими будем. Как говорится, не сравнивайте мягкое с зелёным.

Horrible! So really front hangs down, not just camera illusion. And please look, the headlights are not symmetric !! But, I just checked the list and you have more 71-623-03 trams. Very good !! I know "Piter" I spent holiday there February 2014. Beautiful city :))

I do not think he is jealous. Moscow has many good looking well maintained trams from different factories.

But the tram factory in your own city is a big reason to be proud of, isn't it? ;-)

I tell you one sad story. One day Moscow decided to buy LM-99 manufactured by our beloved PTMZ. And I have to say that LM-99 for Moscow were really bad enough trams! It was a blow to the reputation of PTMZ :(
Afterwards PTMZ built for Moscow some LM-2008 which were better, but however every Moscow's guy has remember PTMZ with fear and hate since those LM-99 had come there/

A reason to be proud to build tram with front hanging down and bad exterior design? I would be ashammed, not proud. The LM 2008 as well bad design, it looks like a bus.

All this is just personal preference, I only talk about the looks, that St. Petersburg build not good looking trams. I do not know about technical quality, maintainence, comfort for passengers and drivers. This is a completely other thing and I never use LAN86K or other PTMZ.

As well you may have same company, one series is bad (you say LM99) but following series is improved and better. Another really fine looking one is the Tver City Star, I am happy, that Russia is able to produce such. Not only West is able to produce good looking (and hopefully relieable) trams.

No, insulting is not o. K. !! The distance does not allow such, but ... lets meet, have the discussion, the popcorn, the drinks and test all the trams in St. Petersburg. And it would show, what is the rotten barn, the scrap metal and what is the good tram for us. A winner would be found. If not too many drinks :)))))

Luckily, threre is a variety of tram models in St.Petersburg, featuring all the three existing and one former Russian tram works, thus such test is to be quite objective:)

Don't forget that first big window is located on the bevel. The plane of the first window is not the same as the plane of the another 4 windows. Thus from some angles it can look like hanging down.

Still, I think you should be proud to receive beautiful new trams, made in Russia, by a famous producer with long experience in producing trams.
