The central city line was cut back in 31.03.1970 to the interurban Răşinari segment only (a part of the city line briefly reinstated 1972-1974). The Răşinari line and the tramway operation closed completely 28.02.2011. The 7 km. segment of track between Sibiu, Zoo — Răşinari was preserved by the Răşinari commune. The 4 km. segment between the Zoo — Cemetery — former depot was dismantled. Trolleybuses operated in the city 04.08.1904 — 18.10.1904 and 17.08.1983 — 14.11.2009.
