Bekannt für die portugiesische Hauptstadt Lisboa sind die drei Ascensores (Schrägaufzüge), welche unterschiedlich hoch gelegene Teile der Altstadt miteinander verbinden. Die drei Standseilbahnen verkehren hier direkt auf öffentlichen Wegen und Gassen, sodass die Zugseile unterhalb der Gleisanlagen verdeckt geführt werden. Jede der drei Bergbahnen verkehrt (wie die Straßenbahn auch) auf einer Spurweite von 900mm und besitzt untypischerweise keine Abtschen Weichen, sondern die Rillenschienen der beiden Strecken sind endweder nebeneinander oder als Gleisverschlingung verlegt. Dieses Video zeigt die drei Bergbahnen auf ihrer Strecke, beginnend mit dem Ascensor do Lavra (182m), gefolgt vom Ascensor da Glória (265m) und dem Ascensor da Bica (260m). Leider besitzen die Stationen (bis auf die Talstation der Bica-Bahn) keine gesonderten Stationsgebäude, dadurch stehen die Wagen nachts ungeschützt auf der Straße...für Sprayer leider eine gern genutzte Grundlage. Auf jeden Fall sollten die drei Ascensores bei einem Lissabon-Besuch Teilo des Programms sein... :-)
