Наиболее проблемный участок линии №21: рельсовое полотно после 40 лет эксплуатации почти полностью изношено, трамвай следует к остановке со скоростью около 5 км/ч.

21 ноября будет последним днём работы для секции маршрута №21 между остановками "Wismarplatz" и "Marktstraße". После этого будет линия будет разделена на две части. Компенсационного маршрута не будет.

Первое за долгие годы закрытие маршрутной трамвайной линии Берлина произошло из-за колоссальных задержек по проекту новой трамвайной линии для маршрута №21: она должна подвести трамваи ближе к вокзалу Ostkreuz и заменить устаревающий участок, однако и без того не самый идеальный проект столкнулся с сопротивлением жителей и бюрократическими трудностями.

The most troublesome section of line 21: after 40 years of operation, the track is almost completely worn out, and trams travel to the tram stop at about 5 km/h.

The 21st of November will be the last day of operation for the section of route 21 between the stops "Wismarplatz" and "Marktstraße". After that, the line will be divided into two parts. There will be no replacement route.

The first closure of a Berlin tram line in many years occurred due to huge delays in the project to build a new tram line for the route №21: it is intended to bring trams closer to Ostkreuz station and replace the aging section, but the already less-than-ideal project has encountered resistance from residents and bureaucratic hurdles.
