Все новые электробусы BYD K9MD-ER простаивают уже более трёх недель. Причина доподлинно неизвестна, однако многие винят в этом холодную ночь с 6 на 7 января. Температура тогда опустилась до 6 градусов тепла, что для Лос-Анджелеса довольно мало. С тех пор на линии J работают исключительно Nabi 45C CNG, которые Metro как раз и обещали заменить на электробусы к концу 2025 года.

This photo captures a major embarrassment for BYD and Metro. All of the brand-new BYD K9MD-ER electric buses have been sitting idle for over three weeks. While the exact reason remains unconfirmed, many are pointing fingers at the freezing night between January 6th and 7th. Temperatures dipped to 43°F—quite a chill for Los Angeles. Since then, the J Line has been running exclusively on NABI 45C CNG buses, the very ones Metro promised to replace with electrics by the end of 2025.
