This terminus is literally one metre before the regional border, which is clearly visible here.
In 2023, an agreement was concluded to extend this tramline to Zaventem airport, which is indeed only a few kilometres away, but in another region and which will require a lot of engineering works: an entire motorway junction has to be passed.
