London Underground Bakerloo Line.
Sunday gauging clearance test run of 1983 Tube Stock, to check that the 1983 Stock could be taken on to the Bakerloo Line for emergency stabling. Test Train on the left, in Queen's Park South Shed, during lunch-time break in test run.
Alongside in the shed, Bakerloo Line 1959 Tube Stock. To the right, Southbound Bakerloo Line train, 1938 Tube Stock, in passenger service headed for Elephant and Castle terminus and descending the ramp to the twin tube tunnels. Behind the wall, next to the right, one British Rail main line track, the DC [Direct Current fed by third rail] suburban Down track towards Watford Junction. To the right, the tracks of the West Coast main line with overhead catenary 25kV supply. As it is a Sunday with some tracks closed, there is a maintenance gang and train, carrying out rail replacement using Thermit welding. Maintenance train includes Brake Van and loco of Class 31.
