In today's series of uploaded photos see the best shots of the Atlanta Streetcar system.

This tramway installation is one out of a number of modern tram projects that opened around the US in recent years. Unfortunately, the Atlanta Streetcar is widely considered the second of the two failed tram projects, following the St. Louis Loop Trolley that is clearly a leader on failures:

In Atlanta usually there are 2 cars operated on the line at any time, carrying very few occasional riders. Similarly to the trolley line in St. Louis, the major reason for failure is that the primary role of modern tram projects in the US is to promote and carry the local urban development. However, extreme politics in Atlanta led to the demise of the city in general, and the neighborhood immediately to the east of the business center that the trams serve. This downturn could not be counterweighted by the tram project. Hence, the different areas trams serve have very little in common from social or economic standpoint, and thus have practically no shared passenger flow.

Трамвай в Атланте является одной из нескольких новых трамвайных сетей в США, открытых за последние годы. К сожалению, линия в Атланте считается вторым из двух неудачных трамвайных проектов, сразу после линии Loop Trolley в Сент-Луисе, которая по праву считается лидером в этом плане:

В Атланте на линии обычно курсируют два вагона на единицу времени, перевозящие немногих случайных пассажиров. Как и в случае с проектом в Сент-Луисе, основная причина неуспеха заключается в том, что главная роль современных трамвайных проектов в США — это стимулирование и движитель городского развития окружающих районов. Однако крайняя радикальная политика в Атланте привела к упадку города в целом, и особенно района, расположенного к востоку от делового центра, который обслуживают трамваи. Этот спад невозможно компенсировать никаким трамвайным проектом. Как следствие, у разных районов, которые обслуживают трамваи, осталось очень мало общего с социальной или экономической точки зрения, и между ними практически нет пассажиропотока.
