A very scenic route, beautiful rare streets, however, the most unsafe area of the city north of the Centraal railway station. Every photo session in this neighborhood I undertook in recent years was an adventure )

Other unsafe places (in Antwerp) exist also - as in every city and country.
Rule 1: never walk conspicuously and don't act like a tourist, but simply like an uninterested local.
Rule 2: Only take out your camera at the last moment, when the tram is almost there.
I visited too many ugly places - included places where it's forbidden to make photos - and I can count the number of troubles that I had on 1 hand.
For route 12 in Antwerp the police gave me 1 interesting fact: nothing happen there before noon, because criminals are sleeping till then... This is not a joke, but came across a presentation on delinquency (which I was present for professional reasons) given by the police...
