A special picture, as this tram rarely really goes on this line. Today, there were two more PCCs on service on line 7, 7063 and 7083. These trams are very rare to spot at this time.

This photo is an excellent opportunity to give an update on the use of older trams in Antwerp.
The Ghent PCCs were all taken out of service on 1 September due to their technical condition. The lack of spare parts made repairs impossible. In principle, one tram would also be kept in Antwerp as a future museum tram, the 6207.
A number of low-floor trams were moved to other depots, which would basically eliminate the need for PCC deployment.
For logistical and practical reasons, these may still been deployed and this especially during peak hours. This certainly doesn't happen daily and rather by exception. Precisely because it can still happen, De Lijn doesn't yet want to organise an official farewell.
In the coming weeks and months, a (great) number of PCCs (both Ghent and Antwerp) will certainly go to the scrap yard.
It is likely that the final farewell will take place in 2026, although this hasn't been officially communicated either. The number of remaining PCCs will be around +/- 26 by then, enough to form 13 coupled pairs. But this too is a wish of a certain department... without this being an official position.
