As reported last year, the tram line from Munsu to Tosong has been converted to a "trolleybus" route, currently served by a fleet of >40 articulated trolleybuses, running off-wire for the entire route. By April, tram tracks have been lifted for much of the northeastern portion of the route. However, as the Pyongyang Bus Factory, also responsible for tram maintenance and manufacturing, is located along this route, tracks were preserved on Rangnang Street to maintain access. According to the Rodong Sinmun, the tram line was in a poor technical condition and brought great inconvenience to people living in the Munsu area.

Due to the closure of Munsu tram depot, a redistribution of trams took place. Most, if not all T4D were scrapped, while (most of) the T6B5K, KT8D5K and (all) Thongil trams were transferred to Rangrang tram depot.

Around late April to May 2025, trolleybuses resumed running on the full length of Ryongsong—Ryonmotdong (route 9), which had been interrupted last year due to construction work.

Trolleybus production hit an all-time high in Pyongyang last year, producing over 50 trolleybuses, consisting of ≥35 Chollima-518/2 (with batteries), ≥15 Chollima-518/1 and a handful of Chollima-321, some of which were delivered to provincial cities like Sariwon.

There was a plan to preserve and renovate this tram line from Munsu – there was already a project for this. However, due to the success of trolleybus production, this route was converted to trolleybuses.

It's true that many trams were relocated to Rangnang. But not all of the T4Ds were scrappedy these type still exist. :-)

But one question, where does this (actual ???) information about the stop names come from? I've made a map with almost all the stops over the years, but many names of your actual map seem to have changed since my own observations. But I can't imagine that, though, because I haven't heard anything about it.

However, there is currently at least one stop, "P'yŏngyangyŏk 평양역 (3)" – this is located south of (1) and (2).

But in base, its a good work!

Hello Daniel, I have been saving images of various stops for some time.
I did notice the following changes to stop names throughout the mid-2010s to now:
Sinam-dong 신암동 (Pyongyang Station — West Pyongyang) → Cheyukgwan 체육관
Dongsonggyo 동성교 (Pyongyang Station — Mangyongdae) → Dongsong-dong 동성동
Kwangbok Department Store 광복백화점 ("") → Palgol 1-dong 팔골1동
Kumsong 1-dong 금성1동 ("") → Children's Palace 소년궁전
Are there many other stops that you have a different name of?
