In today's upload series - photos of historic trams temporarily stored at the Lekstraat Depot, while the tram museum itself is temporarily closed due to land redevelopment project. These trams are to be used for charters on the main network and for the circular museum route.

Due to safety rules in effect at the depot with active operations, photographer's movements were restricted to safe zones, hence unusual angles and extensive use of zoom in these photos.

It's not completely true. All the trams, which you've photographed, were stored here even before - some of them already in 2010 or earlier. They have (or had) different owner, than the Museumtramlijn.

Hello, Peter. My statement above reflects exactly what the visiting ERA club members have been told by the local museum staff during our fantrip with 586. Our tour included a stop at the closed museum, and a special trip through the Lekstraat Depot, arranged explicitly to see these cars to compensate for what we missed at the museum. Granted, however, that the museum operation in Amsterdam is currently in complete disarray, and information is difficult to get.

I have photographed 465-946, 464-776, 1236-748, 307-792, 72-663, 144, 586, 602, 820, 919 at the Lekstraat Depot. None display any recent ownership changes in the Transphoto database. Moreover, 464-776, 307+792, 72-663, 144 and 602 were recently photographed on the museum line that starts from the Haarlemmermeerstation museum depot, and is separate from the revenue street network. Hence these cars were stored at the museum depot at that time. It is my understanding that only newer cars 820 and 919 most likely never left GVB property for the museum.

Perhaps the confusion is from the fact, that some museum cars were kept at Lekstraat before, or periodically transferred to Lekstraat before, for ease of operation on the regular circular museum route that uses city streets, and not the separate museum line. But it doesn't mean a permanent assignment of those cars to the Lekstraat Depot. My statement under the photo in no way excludes this scenario.

Any further information on previous ownership changes or changes of PERMANNET locations that can be used to update Transphoto database - will be appreciated.

Наша поездка включала остановку у закрытого музея, и проезд через депо Лекстраат, организованный специально чтобы увидеть эти трамваи в качестве компенсации за то, что мы пропустили в музее. При этом согласен, что работа трамвайного музея в Амстердаме в настоящее время находится в полном беспорядке, и точную информацию получить сложно.

В депо Лекстраат я сфотографировал вагоны 465-946, 464-776, 1236-748, 307-792, 72-663, 144, 586, 602, 820 и 919. Ни один из них не отображает недавние изменения владельца в базе данных Трансфото. Более того, 464-776, 307+792, 72-663, 144 и 602 недавно были сфотографированы на музейной линии, которая начинается от музейного депо Haarlemmermeerstation, и отделена от уличной сети трамвая. Значит эти вагоны всё же находились в депо музея на момент съёмки. Насколько я понимаю, только более новые вагоны 820 и 919, скорее всего, никогда не покидали территорию GVB и не были в музее.

Сделаю предположение, что несостыковка связана с тем, что действительно - некоторые музейные вагоны раньше хранились на Лекстраате, или раньше периодически переводились на Лекстраат, для удобства обслуживания регулярного кольцевого музейного маршрута, который использует городские улицы, а не отдельную музейную линию. Но это никак не означает постоянную передачу данных вагонов в депо Лекстраат. Мое описание под фото никоим образом не исключает такого сценария.

It's not about the depot - you can assign vehicles to them only in Eastern Europe (which means in this case PL, CZ, HU and HR either) - but the association. All these vehicles used to belong to Tramweg Stichting and run very rarely on Museumtramlijn.

Once upon a time historic vehicles were separated in the Amsterdam database upon owner associations by me, then it was all merged by focus1965. But this page gives some hints:

In some cities, the matter of museum trams is very simple: they either belong to a local association or to the tram company. Rotterdam is such example.

By contrast, in other cities, including Amsterdam and Antwerp, it's very complex. Users of this site (and the modal visitor) do not care about this.

First: there is the owner, or owners. This can be an individual, a family, a group, an association, the museum or the tram company itself.
Secondly, there is the keeper of the vehicle. Usually this is an association, the tram museum or the operator itself. If the vehicle is operable, then another responsible party may be involved.
Third, there is still where the vehicle is stored, either temporarily or permanently.

In Amsterdam, it's sometimes so complicated that there have already been court proceedings over it.

I have the detailed lists and information on Antwerp. I'll give 2 anecdotes. The steam tram is still owned by the TTA from Erezée. For visitors to the Antwerp tram museum, it matters little who owns it. PCC 7001 was scheduled to participate in the tram parade in May 2023, as a museum tram. The restoration was then almost complete but the last part is no longer being fitted, as 2 associations are urging the current owner to take ownership of this vehicle.

For Antwerp, I made the distinction between vehicles based at the museum and the others, which are somewhere under restoration but not yet on display at the tram museum.

In Amsterdam, trams can change where they are located: some operate purely on the museum line and these can also only be seen there, while other trams, which operate in the city, are on Lekstraat. Of course, this changes regularly, temporarily or defnitely, and the photos speak for themselves.
