The NMVB/SNCV's creativity was limitless. The tram company was responsible for transferring freight wagons between the famous (now defunct) Côte-d'Or factory and the railway station. When the horses used for this purpose were requisitioned by the army, this locomotive was built from some found and recycled parts. There was only 1 problem: the factory had partially no overhead wires. This was solved this way: the wagons were pushed into the factory to where the catenary ended. At the end of the catenary, a worker attached an insulated pole to the end of a cable from the locomotive, which then continued on its way, unwinding the cable behind it. On the way back, the cable had to be manually rewound... The cable is visible on the photo.
