X05 - name of Generetion of Citadis trams.
It's like to say "Peugeot X08" =)

Look at the new trams of Nice on this site: they're called "Alstom Citadis 405" , not "X05"

Да, схема обозначений модели, такая же, как в других поколениях, где первая цифра єто (насколько я могу понять логику) количество тележек.

Возможно, так оно и задумывалось. Хоть Страсбургские 403 и не совсем "вписываются" в эту схему. Но, там, скорее , исключение.
