Trolleybuses of the TrolZa-5265.05 Megapolis type entered revenue service.

The trolleybus Lines 2 & 5 are temporarily suspended due to low ridership. In case of absence of complaints from passengers, trolleybuses will not return to these lines.

Starting from 01.01.2017 the Moscow Monorail will be operated according to a published timetable. Later on it is planned to convert the monorail operation to excursion-only service affiliated with the VDNKh exhibition grounds located nearby. Details.

The Mendoza State Governor Alfredo Cornejo proposed closing the trolleybus system and removing about 180 km of trolleybus overhead in favor of hybrid and electric buses, which will be pruchased by the national government. The new public corporation under state control will replace the current EPTM (Empresa Provincial de Transporte de Mendoza) trolleybus carrier. It will employ 200 out of EPTM's current staff of 480. The light rail Metrotranvia line will continue to be operated by the STM (Servico Transporte Mendoza).

Currently four trolleybus services remain in operation: 1 Parque (operated with 7 units), 3 Dorrego (4 units), 4 Pellegrini (7 units) and 6 UNC (3 units). The services 2 Villanueva and the longest route 5 Godoy Cruz — Las Heras are operated with 23 diesel buses (13 EPTM buses and 10 rented buses) due to roadworks and trolleybus rolling stock shortages. There are currently about 25 ex-Vancouver Flyer E901 trolleybuses (only about 13 operable) and 13 locally built new Materfer Águila trolleybuses (9 operable) on the property.

The offer by the Russian TrolZa trolleybus manufacturer to purchase 20 to 60 Optima trolleybuses at $210.000/unit (delivery included) with the low 3,5% interest rate 7-year loan from Roseximbank was rejected.

The final closure of the trolleybus system as per mayor's Vyara Tserovska request was approved by the city council on 10.12.2016. Detailed info here.

Delivered the first trolleybus of the Dnipro-T103 type.

The S-Bahn BG:Voz extended from the Panchevachki Most Station to the Ovcha Station. The new mid-stops are Krnjača Most (the new station), Krnjača and Sebesh.

There are plans to acquire 12 new low floor articulated trolleybuses.

The new BKM-43303А Vitovt Max Duo trolleybus 182 enters revenue service via the specially created new Line 11 between Energetikov Ulitsa — Torgovye Tsentry. The new route has segments without an overhead.

The Tramway Depot 3 closes. The Lines 4 and 5 will be serviced by the Depot 1.

Opening of the Metro Line 2 between the Acesso Norte and Rodoviária Stations. The new segment is 2.3 km in length and consists of 3 stations. U-Bahn-Linie 2 hat geöffnet zwischen Acesso Norte und Rodoviária Stationen. Sektion ist 2,3 km lang und hat 3 Stationen.

The SkyTrain's Millenium Line extended from the Lougheed Town Centre to the Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station.

Trial non-revenue runs on the new trolleybus line via SKD, K. Zelenko & Prokofyeva Ulitsa using vehicle 298. The line is to be operated by the services 15 & 15A, served by one vehicle each.

The first 2 of a batch of 30 ex-Moscow 71-619KT (KTM-19KT) trams delivered, a present from the Moscow's government.

The municipal transport carrier is divided into two separate entities in order to reduce financial losses. Мунициппальное управление электротранспорта г. Уфы (МУЭТ) will be responsible for operations, while the Муниципальное управление инфраструктуры транспорта г. Уфы (МУП "УИТ" will be responsible for infrastructure support and maintenance.
