Transportes Colectivos do Barreiro (TCB) has presented its initiative to purchase 40 electric buses, following the announcement made on 19th May. The €20.45 million investment—of which €12.8 million is funded by the European Union—will bring in 10 articulated (18m), 16 standard (12m), 8 mid-size (10m), and 6 compact (7m) buses. A Yutong U12 was displayed as an example, though final models will be chosen after the tender process. The new fleet is expected to enter service in January 2026
