Delivery of the first new double-end tram.
These trams will replace the Ghent P.C.C.'s and will be used for shuttles in the tramtunnels.

June 6, 2023

05/06/2023: all services on route 24 are operated with CAF trams, no more P.C.C.'s on route 24.
09/06/2023: due to roadworks and single track, route 7 runs between Olympiade and Eilandje and this for at least 6 months or more.
15/06/2023: a solution has been found for route 7 and the tram operates for exactly 1 day on the normal path.
16/06/2023: due to road- and trackworks, route 7 will be diverted to Groenplaats till 30/08/2023. Route 7: Mortsel — Groenplaats.
01/07/2023: the route to Hoboken (route 4) will be closed till the complete renovation, which is not yet planned, maybe something for 2024/2025. Articulated buses will offer a shuttle service. Route 2 (Merksem — Zwaantjes) and 4 (Zwaantjes — Berchem) will be combined and operating with low-floor trams. This means also that no more PCC's will run on routes 2 and 4. In the summer months, a limited number of P.C.C.'s will probably only run on routes 7 and 8.

May 28, 2023

150 years tram in Antwerpen, included a tram parade.

March 12, 2023

Last day of operation of route 11. The tracks and streets are going to be completely overhauled. This process will take until 2024/2025.
This also marks the definitive end of the original (non-modernised) P.C.C.'s.

January 30, 2023

The new CAF trams will enter in service on route 10 and soon on route 24 and 1. Until further notice, the oldest P.C.C. trams will remain in service, but only on route 11.

January 9, 2023

Sufficient new tram drivers have been recruited, which means the normal timetable is returning . Line 12 is also back in service and the Ghent P.C.C.'s.

November 7, 2022

Due to the poor condition of the tracks and some rail and road works, the tram network is being modified.

Line 2: shortened to Zwaantjes (Merksem — Zwaantjes, since 13/06/2022)
Line 4: shortened to Berchem Station (Hoboken — Berchem Station)
Line 9: extended to Silsburg (P&R Linkeroever — Silsburg)
Line 11: shortened to Centraal Station (Berchem Station — Centraal Station)

Due to acute staff shortage, frequency on following lines will be reduced to a 15-minute service:

Line 1: P&R Luchtbal — Zuid
Line 4: Hoboken — Berchem Station (Groenenhoek)
Line 7: Mortsel — Eilandje
Line 8: P&R Wommelgem — Astrid
Line 24: Silsburg — Havenhuis

Although the track works have been completed for some time, service on line 12 will not resume for now due to lack of staff.

July 20, 2022

Due to the heat (39°), the PCCs did not operate during the day (between 12:00 and 18:00), so that lines 4 and 7 only had a limited timetable, while line 11 did not operate at all.
Eventually the entire tram service had to be discontinued due to various problems with the catenary.

January 17, 2022

A new terminus 'P&R Linkeroever' will be launched on the site of a new parking building. The new terminus will be served by routes 5 and 9. The old terminus will remain for route 15 and will be renamed 'Regata'.
