May 30, 2025

The first batch of 22 new electric vehicles has been presented to the public. Revenue service starts on the following 31st of May.

The new station "Centro Direzionale" has been officially opened for revenue service.

July 16, 2024

Naples Metro line 6 reopened and extended by four stations: Arco Mirelli, San Pasquale, Chiaia and Municipio. The line was closed since 2013 due to low passenger usage and construction of the new section.

September 29, 2023

Tram lines 1, 2 and 4 are now replaced with new "circle" lines 412 and 421.

On the outward section, line 412 is running from San Giovanni a Teduccio directly via Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi to Poggioreale. On the return the line runs via Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi to Via Cristoforo Colombo (Porto) and then to San Giovanni a Teduccio.

Line 421 runs on the outward section from San Giovanni a Teduccio to to Poggioreale by using Via Cristoforo Colombo (Porto) and via Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi. On the return from Poggioreale to San Giovanni a Teduccio, the tram instead runs directly by using only Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi.

CAF Inneo metro trains n. 009 and 010 have been arrived.

Due to the summer timetable the tram timetable was modified. The normal lines 1, 2 an 4 are out of service from 7th august 2023 onwards.
As replacement, line 41 is now in operation. The line runs with a frequence of 25 minutes.

CAF Inneo metro trains n. 003 and 004 are now also in service.

October 18, 2022

Passenger service of the new CAF Inneo trains started now. Currently, the vehicles 011 and 012 are in service.

The tram traffic on line 1 between Emiciclo di Poggioreale and Stazione Marittima has been restored

A contract was signed for the delivery of 7 additional CAF trains for Line 1. A total of 19 trains have been ordered.

Italian government will provide 38 million euros to extend the Line 6 between Mostra — Arsenale — Campegna.

December 22, 2017

Italian government will provide 267,82 million euros to complete Line 6 with depot "Arsenale". Other 1,46 million euros will pe provide to enlarge Line 1 depot "Piscinola".

February 27, 2017

The municipal council of Naples ruled rename stations of Line 1. The current station "Municipio" on "Municipio — Porto di Napoli", and "Piscinola-Secondigliano" on "Piscinola-Scampia".
