August 22, 2025

The first of thirty low entry Geely Yuancheng C12E trolleybuses arrives in Hangzhou. This is the first time that Geely has produced a trolleybus, as they primarily manufacture electric buses. These trolleybuses will feature four different liveries — the current Hangzhou Public Transport livery and three retro liveries.

Today 荆长路 (Jingchang Road station) on Line 19 was opened.

The Pinghai Road trolleybus traction substation is decommissioned. In the northbound direction from Meidengao Bridge stop to Pinghai Road and in the southbound direction from Banqiao Road to Fengle Bridge South stop, the overhead wires have been deenergised. Trolleybuses now pass this section on battery power.

April 1, 2025

Sichuan Geely Commercial Vehicles wins the tender for thirty (30) 12 metre dual mode trolleybuses, after a protracted tendering process.
The negotiated price per trolleybus is ¥900,000 (approximately $125,250 USD).

Hangzhou Metro Line 5 is extended from Jinxing to Nanhu East.

Third tender for 30 trolleybuses in Hangzhou ends without sufficient bids lodged.

Hangzhou Public Transport Company 3rd Division is disbanded; routes and working vehicles are transferred to 2nd Division and Trolleybus Division.

Hangzhou Public Transport Company 6th Division is disbanded; routes and working vehicles are transferred to 2nd Division.

Geely Commercial Vehicles with "Yuancheng" brand vehicles wins a tender for the supply of 790 electric buses for a total cost of ¥463280000 (~$66.6 million USD) including lifetime warranty.

• 700 8 metre buses
• 90 6 metre buses (for Yuhang district)

Deliveries are to be finished in 2023, and will replace most of the 12 metre BYD K9A and K9F delivered in 2014 and 2015.

Trolleybus contact network on Jiangcheng Road is reconnected to power after disconnection in 2016 for construction of metro line 5; the trolleybus u-turn at Xiongzhenlou terminus is also rebuilt.
This is used by route 151.

Abandoned Yutong ZK6125BEVG10 are moved elsewhere for storage.

All abandoned Yutong ZK6125BEVG10 trolleybuses are permanently stored on the south bank of the Qiantang River, with electrical equipment also dismantled.
