8 september 2025 a.

Tram service to the village of Lacu Sărat and Combinat (routes 24 and 25) has been suspended due to the start of modernization work on the tram infrastructure on Grigore Alexandrescu street, between Monument Park and DN21 road. Once this work is completed, modernization of the railway between Brăila and Lacu Sărat will begin. The section between Lacu Sărat and Combinat isn't included in any modernization project and will likely be removed due to almost none ridership.

Publication of tender for purchase of 40 electric buses (10m) through the South-East Regional Program 2021-2027.

16 november 2024 a.

The modernization works of the tram infrastructure in Monument Park have been completed, at which point trams of lines 21 and 22 are back on the routes.

Due to the still incompletely modernized infrastructure, trams only run between Monument Park and Pod Brăilița (Calea Galați), via Dorobantilor Boulevard (line 22) and Independenței Boulevard (line 21).

14 juuli 2023 a.

Publication of tender for purchase of minimum 6, maximum 8 trams (18m) through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
10.10.2023: contract was signed with Astra Vagoane Călători.
20.04.2025: all 8 trams were delivered (BR 03 — BR 10).

29 mai 2023 a.

Tram traffic on the main routes is suspended due to the start of the modernization of the tram infrastructure. The only routes that will continue to be operational are line 24 to Combinat endstation and line 25 to Lacu Sărat village, both with starting point from the Radu Negru Depot.

31.08.2022: contract was signed with Astra Vagoane Călători.
07.11.2023: all trams were delivered (BR 01, BR 02).

Publication of tender for purchase of 6 electric buses (12m) through the Regional Operational Program, Priority Axis 4 of the REGIO Program 2014-2020.
25.07.2022: contract was signed with BMC Truck & Bus (romanian importator for ZTE Smart Auto buses).
2023: all electric buses were delivered.

17.01.2022: contract was signed with BMC Truck & Bus (romanian importator for ZTE Smart Auto buses).
