More than 70 of the 90 Ebusco 2.2 electric buses will be taken out of service due to technical defects that have been identified.

The cracks found in the vehicle bodies must be repaired in the first quarter of 2026. A corresponding agreement has already been concluded with the manufacturer.

2025 m. gruodžio 14 d.

Traditional changes to the route network associated with the transition to the new timetable. Main points:

Tram:
• Trainsets of two GT6 trams will now operate on route M5 (similar to route M4) to increase the line's capacity.

• Eight-car trains (instead of six-car trains) are now required to operate on the U3 line.

• The number of trips on lines S46 and S47 is increased. Line S47 is extended from Hermannstraße station to Südkreuz station;

Last day of operation for the tram line along Boxhagener Straße and Marktstraße. The first closure of an operating tram line in many years.

The 900-metre section between the Holteistraße and Marktstraße stops has been taken out of service due to physical wear and tear on the track. Tram route №21 is now divided into two parts.

This is a consequence of the almost unprecedented failure to approve the project to build a new 1.2-kilometre route through Ostkreuz station. The approval process has been dragging on for eight years.

2025 m. spalio 20 d.

Until 2 November, there is no train service on the U2 line between Senefelderplatz and Stadtmitte stations.

The restrictions are due to work on installing a modern electronic centralization system (CBTC) at Alexanderplatz station. During the repair work, replacement buses are running between Anton-Wilhem-Amo-Straße (Mohrenstraße) and Senefelderplatz stations.

2025 m. spalio 13 d.

The extension of the tram line from U Turmstraße to S+U Jungfernheide has been postponed: the opening is now scheduled for 2031 (the original plan was 2027).

All other tram line projects are also being delayed, including the extension of the M10 from S+U Warschauer Straße to Hermannplatz, the line to Blankenburger Süden, and the new section for line 21 to Ostkreuz station.

Overall, it can be said that the Senate, led by a coalition of the CDU and SPD parties, has completely halted the development of tram projects. No large-scale work is being carried out on any of the projects.

2025 m. spalio 6 d.

2025 m. birželio 30 d.

BVG is beginning the final phase of testing JK series trains on the U2 line before putting the modern trains into regular service.

This is a "simulation of passenger operation" during which trains run on the U2 line with stops but open their doors on the opposite side to the platform. This test is important for identifying and fixing any bugs related to how the trains work in regular service.

After the summer holidays, the first JK series trains will be introduced into regular passenger service on the U2 line. All 140 JK cars from the first batch are planned to be integrated into daily operation by the end of 2025.

The extension of the south-western section of the U3 line by 800 metres to the S-Bahn Mexikoplatz station (with the subsequent construction of a separate station) has started.

The new section with the new station could be operational by 2030. Still, residents, activists, and some transport planning offices have pointed out that the project costing is significantly underestimated, which could lead to funding problems and a longer construction period.
