Opening of the Mölltal Glacier Express, which runs through a tunnel and is the longest funicular railway in the world with 4.827 metres.

Opening of the Pasterzenbahn funicular between the Pasterze glacier and the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe (212 metres length).

Opening of the Kreuzeckbahn funicular.
