The first 7 km-long segment of the metro system with 6 stations opened. The Iranian third metro system will have 4 lines totaling 70 km. in length. Chinese-Iranian built metro cars by Tehran Wagon Manufacturing Co. are used, similar to those in Tehran and Isfahan.
