Nach 7,5 Jahren Betrieb wurde die 6,1km lange Magnetbahn zwischen dem Terminal 1 und Yongyu (용유) stillgelegt, zuletzt wurden die Betriebszeiten aufgrund sehr geringer Fahrgastzahlen zurückgesetzt. Von einst 51 Fahrtenpaaren am Tag wurde im Jahr 2022 nur noch 12x gefahren (7x am Morgen und 5x am Abend). Die anstehenden Instandsetzungs-/Revisionsarbeiten brachten die vorerst temporäre Einstellung. Es gab zwar offiziell Pläne zur Reaktivierung, doch diese wurden bisher nicht verfolgt. Die Zukunft dieser Magnetbahn bleibt ungewiss.

Am 13.04.2023 erfolgte der Spatenstich und der offizielle Baubeginn der künftigen "Wirye Line" — der ersten Straßenbahn in Südkorea nach der Stilllegung des Betriebs im Jahre 1968.
Die künftige 5,4km lange Straßenbahnstrecke wird 12 Stationen bedienen, dies durchweg ohne Oberleitung und im Batteriebetrieb.

Incheon metro line 1 opens a one-stop extension to Songdo Moonlight Festival Park station

Suin Line is extended eastward from Oido to Suwon, Suin and Bundang lines are merged into the Suin-Bundang Line.

3.7km metro shuttle service labeled as part of the Gyeonggui-Jungang line opens between Munsan and Imjingang stations

Shinbundang line phase 2 opens from Jeongja station to Gwanggyo. Migeum station is opened as an infill station in April 2018, providing a transfer to the Bundang line.

Gyeongui Line is extended eastward from Gongdeok to Yongsan, and along with the Jungang Line is merged into the Gyeongui-Jungang Line

Gangmae station opens as an infill station on the Gyeongui Line

Cheongna International City station opens as an AREX infill station

Underground connection between the EverLine and Bundang Line opens at Giheung station. Transfer discount to the bundang line is introduced September 20th

The Bundang Line is extended westward from Mangpo to Suwon, with a connection to Line 1

Bundang Line is extended southward from Giheung to Mangpo

Bundang Line extended northward from Seolleung to Wangsimni

Bundang Line section extended southward from Jukjeon to Giheung, a temporary station "Bojeong" is replaced by a new station with the same name.
