Yutong trolleybuses have officially started their regular operation.

The delivery of 60 Yutong trolleybuses has been completed: all ordered vehicles have arrived in the city. Their launch into regular operation is scheduled for April this year.

12 一月 2025 年

Delivery of new Yutong trolleybuses has started. The first trolleybus arrived in the Ecuadorian port of Manta.
60 articulated vehicles built at the Yutong plant in Zhengzhou (China) are to be delivered to Ecuador by the end of winter.

An option for an additional 80 trolleybuses is also being considered. 20 of the vehicles will be used to completely replace the buses on the BRT C1 line, while the remaining 60 trolleybuses will be used on the Ecovía express line to replace the diesel buses.

Троллейбусы в столице Эквадора будут поступательно заменены на автобусы. Вместо 54 троллейбусoв Mercedes-Benz O405G-HC первой партии поставки от 1994 г., выработавших свой ресурс, заказаны автобусы. Поставка ожидается к 12.2015. В строю пока остаются троллейбусы Mercedes-Benz O405G-HC из второй партии в количестве 59 машин поставки 1999 г. По состоянию на 05.2015 из 113 машин, обслуживающих линию скоростного троллейбуса, работают 84 троллейбуса и 29 автобусов. К концу 2015 года более половины подвижного состава будут составлять автобусы. Основной причиной отказа от троллейбусов называется дорогостоящее обслуживание инфраструктуры.
