Solaris Bus & Coach won a competition for up to 512 new trolleybuses. The fixed part of the contract includes 107 40-foot (12-meter) trolleybuses. Delivery is supposed to begin in 2026.

The SkyTrain's Millenium Line extended from the Lougheed Town Centre to the Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station.
