29.06.2018	После пожара в феврале 2017, который привел к закрытию фуникулера, система проходит реконструкцию. 26.06.2018 из тоннеля извлечены сгоревшие вагоны, которые передали в железнодорожный музей Хайфы. На следующий день в порт Хайфы прибыло судно из Антверпена с первым составом компании «Garaoonth-Doflmaiir» на следующей неделе ожидается прибытие второго поезда. В сентябре 2018 года запланировано возобновление движения.
04.02.2017	A fire at the lower Paris Square Station of the funicular (metro) the Carmelit broke out around 13:00, while the funicular was closed for a Saturday. The smoke ascended up the tunnel and billowed out of all stations. According to the media all the rolling stock has burned out, and the infrastructure was damaged.
