Chronology

05.01.2025	Metro line 3 has been put into operation. The total length of Riyadh metro lines is now 176 km. This is the longest driverless metro in the world.
15.12.2024	Passenger service is now open on metro lines 2 and 5.
01.12.2024	The city metro was opened: lines 1, 4, and 6 were launched. Their total length is 97.5 km.

The 11 km-long trolleybus line opened on 23 April 2013 within the territory of the King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) campus. 12 Viseon LT20 trolleybuses are operated, one of which is equipped with a VIP interior.

The 176 km-long 85-station fully automated metro system opened 01 December 2024.

The metro fleet consists of 190 automated trains built by different manufactures featuring identical uniformed design:
