03.12.2025	Trolleybus service began in Velikiy Novgorod 30 years ago.
01.11.2025	From November 1, 2025, the fare will be 45 rubles (or 43 rubles with the "Beresta" card).
17.01.2025	A Škoda 14TrM (VMZ) trolleybus (№23) was handed over to the Exposition and exhibition complex of urban electric transport in St. Petersburg.
01.06.2024	From June 1, 2024, the fare will be 39 rubles (or 37 rubles with the "Beresta" card).
18.09.2023	Due to construction work at Vokzalnaya Square, buses will operate on trolleybus routes 2 and 3 until October 18, 2023.

Veliky Novgorod has a trolleybus system consisting of three routes. Construction began in 1984, but was plagued by delays, and by 1990, only the overhead wire supports had been installed along the first phase of the system and at the depot. In 1993-1994, trolleybus service resumed with the assistance of the Vologda Trolleybus Authority. The first route opened only in 1995 (the first trolleybus network opened in Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union).

Veliky Novgorod is the last city in Russia where Czech-made Skoda 14Tr trolleybuses (built at the Vologda Mechanical Plant) are regularly used.
