20.02.2026	The system reopens after almost 12 years as trolleybuses begin operation again on Line 302. The system had been mothballed since May 2014. For this purpose, two trolleybuses have been moved from Neuchâtel to La Chaux-de-Fonds, since both systems are managed by the same oprator TransN. New Hess LighTram 19DC trolleybuses are on a shared order with Neuchâtel and are expected for delivery in about two years. Then Lines 301 and 304 will also be operated with trolleybuses again.
07.02.2024	The trolleybus line in La Chaux-de-Fonds will be supplied with electricity again from 12 February. Tests will be carried out with the new trolleybuses from Neuchâtel. There is no date yet for regular trolleybus service
10.02.2022	State council approved TransN's request to purchase 30 Hess LighTram19 trolleybuses for Neuchatel and La Chaux-de-Fonds. In Neuchatel they will replace the l2 NAW trolleybuses, which are the last high-floor trolleybuses in the country and will allow extension of the routes in battery mode. In La Chaux-de-Fonds they will restore trolleybus service, which was suspended in 2014 and permanent closure of the system was considered. Delivery is expected in two batches in 2023 and 2026.
