29.08.2025	The Mondego Mobility System (Metro Mondego) has begun preliminary operations in Coimbra, with the urban BRT section between Estação da Portagem and Vale das Flores opening on August 29, 2025. The fully electric buses run daily from 8:00 to 20:00, free of charge during this initial phase. This launch marks the first step toward full operation of the new BRT network in the region.
01.08.2024	All 35 Zhongtong LCK6186EVG (N18) electric buses for Metro Mondego have arrived in Portugal. Currently all are stored in a depot of STCP in Porto, due to the still ongoing construction of the depot in Coimbra.
25.04.2024	The first out of 35 Zhongtong LCK6186EVG (N18) electric buses for Metro Mondego has arrived and was presented to the public on Praça 25 de Abril. Two more are on the way to Portugal and the rest will be delivered in two batches of 16 each.
