Antwerpen, BN PCC Antwerpen # 2031 — route 3
Burgemeester Gabriel Theunisbrug
There can be many years between the completion in rough construction of the tram tunnel and its final inauguration.
A temporary cover plate was placed on the already finished open slope. The tram tunnel was inaugurated soon after and route 3 is now among the busiest on the network, using 43-metre trams.

I didn't note the number of the second tram.
This was the temporary covered access ramp for the future pre-metro, which was put in service a few years later.

Eindhalte (endstation) P & R Linkeroever (old)
The old situation, then only with two tracks and an empty environment.
This is the 2nd official livery of this tram. Afterwards, the tram was covered with advertising, but for a few years it also drove like this in red, the standard colour in Antwerp at the time.

Antwerpen, BN PCC Antwerpen (modernised) # 2100 A fresh color scheme that was never retained
Antwerpsesteenweg
Some people at the then operator were not happy about the fact that 'their' company was going to merge with 'De Lijn' a few months later. Buses already received the new colours, but someone decided to design a new livery for the old operator (who was going to disappear) and to apply it. The tram never did any service and was shortly afterwards repainted in the new livery of 'De Lijn'.
Photo of collection, made by an employee of the tram company at the time (Van de Weyer) who has passed away in the meantime.

Interior, view toward back
The interior also received new livery. This was removed almost immediately afterwards: this renovated tram was the first to receive the new livery of 'De Lijn'. In this livery, only test drives were made and no passenger has ever seen the interior.

Antwerpen, BN PCC Antwerpen # 2052 — route 15
Blancefloerlaan
The first day the tunnel under the River Scheldt was in service. Passengers were allowed in for free and the trams were more than overcrowded. Back then, there were no enclosed driver's cabs, so passengers literally stuck to the windscreen.
