Although the tram had already been given the status of a work car, it could occasionally be used for additional services between the hypodrome and the Ostend railway station.

These trams were also used for special services. The illustrated tram has 8 (!) trailers, presumably for the transportation of children to a recreation area. This kind of transport still exists, but is now performed by several articulated buses.

The city tram was replaced by a bus service. Bus line 5 comes at exactly the same place where tram line 5 was running then. When published, this photo was taken almost 70 years earlier and bus line 5 still follows the same route as its predecessor...

A journey with tram-enthusiasts. In the same period (or maybe the same day?), the brand new American P.C.C. was presented and on trial on the coastal line. The difference couldn't be bigger.

In 1947 an American P.C.C. was introduced in Belgium and has been tested at several places.
The tram also spent a short time on the coastline and coincidentally there is also a postcard of it.
There are no colour pictures of this tram, but the scheme is known and is the same as Washington.

The tram between Knokke and Bruges was abandoned in 1956. Photos taken along the route (in the villages) are extremely rare: tourists did not visit these areas and tram enthusiasts concentrated on the more attractive coastal tram.

A unique and original photo from my collection, taken by a German soldier or officer: the text with date on the back of the photo is in German. The headlight of the tram is obscured and the man in the middle of the photo looks anything but friendly to the photographer: it was the occupying forces.
This is probably the only photo of this tram: it was repaired, but burnt down completely shortly after.

A tram but also a postcard with a history. This card has, after a number of detours, ended up in my collection and comes from the official archives of the defunct tram company N.M.V.B.
There an archivist had noted on the card "ex 9478 become 9951". This note appears to be wrong, but this has caused confusion for many years, precisely because this card came from an official archive. The card was issued by Edit. Grand Bazar Parisien and is in my personal possession.
