Prototypes of new trams

Antwerpen, Stelplaats 'Luchtbal' (Noorderlaan)

To give the staff (and only them!) an idea of what the new trams would look like in Antwerp, a new tram for Dresden was first transported to Antwerp (for a few days) before being transported to its final destination. The difference in track gauge made that this tram could of course not run in Antwerp. The tram was the 2536.

Bombardier presented a mock-up of a City-Runner at the end of 1995, hoping that the public would be impressed and the government would place an order. This did not happen.
