Pfälzer Oberlandbahn popularly known as the Oberland Railway or the Schneck, was an electrically operated narrow- gauge railway for passenger traffic.
The railway line was 22.8 km long and, starting in the winter of 1912/13, ran from Neustadt an der Haardt (renamed Neustadt an der Weinstraße in 1936) in the north via Edenkoben to Landau in der Pfalz in the south.
In 1936, a branch line was opened from Edenkoben up to Villa Ludwigshöhe .
After the Second World War, the increasing volume of private traffic on the line caused increasing problems.
Therefore, it was gradually closed between 1953 and 1955 and subsequently dismantled.
Only a few relics survived.
