Smith Lands Station Red Line

This two car METRORail CAF Urbos LRV two-car set, led by No. 307, is operating a Southbound Red Line service approaching Smith Lands Station. This station is one of 5 successive stops inside Houston’s Texas Medical Center (TMC) District. It is located towards the southern terminus of the 13 mile Red Line running North-South through central Houston.

METRO (Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County) operates bus and light rail services in the Houston metro area. The light rail ‘METRORail’ network has three lines (Red, Purple and Green) developed since 2004 covering 22 miles (at the time of this photograph).

In Service with METRORail since 2014, the Grupo CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) Urbos LRV is a specific design for the US market, also operated by Boston MBTA Metro. They are manufactured at CAF’s Elmira facility in New York.
