Old York Road Germantown

Route 23 was replaced by buses in June 1992. However in 2002, the tracks and overhead were still in place so it was possible to have a fan trip tour then entire route (that was the longest streetcar route in the United States). On April 7, 2002 historic PCC streetcars 2728 and 2785 were used to tour the entire route except for the southern most part. Soon after, SEPTA's historic streetcars were moved off the property and rail on route 23 was paved over in several locations.
